This International Standard specifies the requirements forcouplings for the transmission of power between the rotating shaftsof two machines in special-purpose applications in the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. Such applications aretypically in large and/or high speed machines, in services that canbe required to operate continuously for extended periods, are oftenunspared and are critical to the continued operation of theinstallation. By agreement, it can be used for other applicationsor services. Couplings covered by this International Standard are designed toaccommodate parallel (or lateral) offset, angular misalignment andaxial displacement of the shafts without imposing unacceptablemechanical loading on the coupled machines. It is applicable togear, metallic flexible element, quill shaft and torsionallyresilient type couplings. Torsional damping and resilient typecouplings are detailed in Annex A; gear-type couplings are detailedin Annex B and quill shaft style couplings are detailed in AnnexC. This International Standard covers the design, materials ofconstruction, manufacturing quality, inspection and testing ofspecial-purpose couplings. This International Standard does not define criteria for theselection of coupling types for specific applications. This International Standard is not applicable to other types ofcouplings, such as clutch, hydraulic, eddy-current, rigid, radialspline, chain and bellows types.
Reader with the pen I purchased the surface pro so that I can take notes on pdf's with the pen. Currently, my options are just the windows reader, but the notes get scrambled, there isn't pressure sensitivity, and if I write too small (or zoom and write), it looks terrible.
